He's fighting way above his weight class every battle lately. It's arguable whether it's better that he keeps failing to seal the deal in the end, or if it'd be better if he succeeded via the sort of powerup that gets called an asspull, but those are the two options for this until he gets strong enough to warrant being able to go toe to toe with demons that other humans he can't even beat would struggle against.
