Is there any reason for skele-MC to keep enraging the gallery? He could've refused them without saying: "the literal living-god you worship is a loser that'd leave you all with nothing but empty faith and no strength."
Fukken hell that guy wanted a restart real bad.

P.S: How am I the only one who has a problem with how literally any Asian-related language, is using the word "Thunder" wrong? I fucking hate that shit.
"The monster lord of THUNDER".
It's almost as stupid as:

Thunder is sound. Lightning is a "strong burst of electricity".
And yes, I do have an entire folder of such examples. I hate that shit. I hate it so much.

...I fail to see your point. All I said was that clearly, going by the comments, pretty much nobody is bothered by it, no matter how common it is.
It may somehow (And I say "somehow", because I still don't understand it) -- make sense in Jap / Chinese / Korean, but it makes 0% sense in English.

There's a reason Thor, god of lightning, is called Thor which means thunder (or originally Donar, which led to words like donder and donner in Dutch and German meaning thunder). There's a reason Thunderbolt is a correct and relatively commonly used word.
You can't have lightning without thunder. To call something that produces lightning a thunder-thing is not incorrect as such, as it always will produce thunder.
So why do you have a problem with a writer using "Lord of Thunder" to describe a god when that is the very thing people have used to describe actual gods in the same vein long before your precious English language existed? Spoiler: it doesn't make 0% sense.

Well, Mr Skeleton, that is a nice question: How did Rena got those rockets in the first place?

Not that I'm complaing of seeing someone with a plan in the scene, unlike Mr "I'm going to say to this group of fanatics that their god is going to be destroyed" . Seriously, what do you have inside your head, Mr Skeleton , air ? [/sarc]

There is also the fact that the two words come out the same from most translators, implying that they don't distinguish between the sound and the shock as they are part of the same electrical discharge event.

@GoblinGuy I can get that some languages have homonyms, or have etymological reasons to be the way they are, even if they may not be 100% logical, but they make sense within the language.
But this is English. And in English, there is no etymological reason to describe "Thunder" as "a bolt of electricity". Go read a dictionary, and stop talking nonsense.

@mud
If I got what you're saying, that the meaning in Jap is a bit obscure as to whether they mean T or L, or there is no even important distinction in the language to begin with, I can agree with that.
It doesn't explain why translators don't opt to "correct" the translation, so it adapts to English better, but I can at least say that it makes sense to me.
Not that it makes me hate it any less. Seeing a JRPG game have "Thunder Resistance" is bad...But hearing an anime character shout out in Engrish: "Thunduru Slashu" is simply aneurysm inducing.

So, this group knows about demon lords, worships one of them and such. Why didn't he just tell them he already worships a different demon lord and name his Mistress from the beginning? Odds are decent they'd at least recognize the name and that would go far better than calling their god a waste of time(even if it is true).

This MC is reaching next level of stupidity, isn't he?

Just because they failed in his old timeline, doesn't mean they will fail in this one. The fact that he's changed so much in this timeline means that the future will likely change outside of his knowledge.

And telling them that they're going to fail with little reasoning or explanation is pretty much just insult.

@Solipsist In Asian folklore, Thunder God and Lightning God are usually different deity, and are usually sibling or spouse. Look up Leigong and Leizi (China), or Aji-Shiki and Raijin (Japan).
