While I agree @Cleesus. In that day and age women can't exist without a man. Instead of helping her father, the village refers to her as serving her father. It's sad but if she isn't serving a man (Father or husband) it's likely she would be run out of town as a fox in my opinion
@kittychan ahhh that sucks. Then again no one probably visits his old ass anyway she could stop helping him and lie but i guess thats not in her character
Pretty much. I'm surprised they wrote in Chinese characters instead of the Korean Hangul. Not too familiar with Korean history at that time, but maybe the language was still somewhat superfluous back then?
