So, he's so much of an idiot that he'll let people get suspicious of him and then get stronger, but seeing it from a different perspective he does seem to have considered it but isn't taking care of it as he wants to kill them....

@Doomer I'm venturing a guess, but I assume his younger brother (who turned out to be more talented) didn't treat him well after their potentials were determined.
