Kuzumi is basically the dead fish girl in a relationship. Erika definitely deserves much better. I don't like what the mangaka is trying to convey here. Communication needs to happen on both ends and you must absolutely understand each other as best as you can. Hopefully, there aren't too many impressionable youngins reading this and think it's ok for a relationship to be one sided.

On that note, I think https://mangadex.org/title/14162/7-jikanme-no-note does a great job of showing what a healthy relationship, especially for a high school couple, should be (talking about main couple). The latest chapter is basically the anti-thesis of this manga and it's a great chapter, especially if you've read tons of romcoms where the main driver of the plots are miscommunication.

..........even to the end, where Kuzumi should've been apologizing and explaining why he did things the way he did, it's still Erika who did all the talking. The fuk. Glad the drama wasn't long and unnecessary and it did sound like something has couples can have a little argument about but the way it was resolved.......... I laugh. I'm glad she's more understanding but.......... Whatever lol

With this whole "no talking MC" the author is pushing forward, it really reminds me of Snake.

If some time in the future the author decides to stop being a retard, and Kuzumi starts being a normal character, then I hope the first thing he says is "Kept you waiting, huh?" That'll be perfect.

Edit: Also, how come you guys don't assume that Kuzumi's trying to become better? In this chapter alone he spoke more than he does normally. He will get his break, just wait for it.

Even if Kuzumi has a communication disorder or something, I wish the author would clarify that so we don't keep thinking that he is able to communicate but just chooses not to, and leaving all the work to Erika every single time.

The moral of "you don't need to understand someone perfectly to love them" reminds me of Rin's route from Katawa Shoujo. Only that was a lot better executed.
