500 stacks of rice??????? Did you lose your mind, bro? I guess that's the effect of going hungry for a week.

@jebjordan well it was stated that this place is a "ressource-poor place".So there most likely are no farm etc. and there exist many hunters. Even if he is the patriach´s son he does have a bit to much scar´s on his body. This shows he is hunting food(hunting food=fighting demon beast´s..not rabbits)
he does it bc 500 sacks of rice means who knows how many days without going outside hunting and risking his life

@redcolonel I don't see your problem. It makes way more sense to say "That's right." The other thing just comes across as rude imo.

I hate literal translations with a passion where they don't make sense. Especially "en" which appears EVERYWHERE! Just write "yup" or "mhm."

@Yamibi This might come as a shock to you, but China and India are actually the world's largest producers of potato. And I can assure you it's not for export. When you have a population over a billion people, you can't exactly ignore a plant like potato that can be cultivated in places totally unsuitable for rice.

Not a surprise. I was thinking about japan and korea, and their culinary traditions.

@Yamibi This is a Chinese manhua, though. I had never checked how Japan is in that regard, but it seems to be decent, not anything special. Still, they don't need to import nearly everything they eat at WcDonald's or put in their curry and stew.

Potato has a way of conquering culinary traditions, especially if people are starving otherwise, like they were in China following the brilliant communist strategy.

@DonGiovanni
translator note when they adapted something untranslatable like a proverb, okay that's interesting trivia,
but it's excessive to make a note because they adapted "not wrong" as "that's right"

@redcolonel Oh, so your critique is about the TN and not what's in the bubble. Fair enough. I thought you were complaining about what was in the bubble. :p My bad. I don't think it's too bad though. But whatever ^^
