Negi is a hack indeed. This guy wasn't a real character, he was an arbitrarily introduced and just as quickly dropped plot device so Itsuki could have a "full arc".

Even though I'm on Team Nino, I can still say that Itsuki has too little romantic scenes and doesn't show as much love as the other quintuplets. I thought Negi would start Itsuki's arc, but it was his biological father instead, no kiss or confession.

What the hell did Negi want to do? Instead of adding things that would develop the romantic relationship like the other quintuplets, he just added their biological father just for that. It seemed too forced, he probably didn't want to write a love scene for her?!
