This, this is exactly why I hate this recent trend of releasing partial chapters...I'm starting to think things were better when authors worked in sweatshops....

well then i'm just gonna make assumption that 1 of his other 2 skills might be moral boast or so(improve stats of team kinda like jarvan IV of 'league of legends' flag, but with his huge shield instead)

@CountryMage i don't, reason being most author ends up sick from overworking themselves trying to meet deadlines. if this way helps curb that i'm more than happy that they release in parts instead, cause it's always better than waiting weeks to months cause of them falling sick or getting injured.

If a C-Rank monster is that much trouble, what about the demon king?

The problem with releasing partial chapters like this is that the author doesn’t write them properly for that. They design them as full chapters, yet release them in parts. At least the short 4 page chapter series usually are written properly for short chapters.

Always thought the whole chopped up 10 pages at a time thing was done by translators tbh. It's annoying since it creates huge cliffhangers but oh well at least it's getting to us for free so can't really complain.

It's basically a barrier that can take a certain amount of damage before it reaches the person's body. Once the out shell is broken you start to actually get physically hurt.

@Lazyxbum : But in allot of these partial chapter series seem to be adapted from a Light novel which was often originally a web novel. Meaning the writing is already done, it is just artwork and editing. This one the web novel has 176 chapters and started ~10 months ago.

@Vasqueztion No, no there is no pleasing me. Seriously though, I would be happy waiting a few weeks for a more coherent chapter part, and not all these pieces cut for the commercial breaks.

@Lazyxbum They obviously have it planned out, the story is already written, the art just always cuts off at the good parts, and there are several series in weekly magazines, that would alternate, one week on, one week off, or something, to release a couple times a moth, maybe even one chapter a month in a weekly magazine. So they don't have to break it down into so many parts, they do it to have constant releases, which is just as bad, it's still overwork.

@CountryMage I believe most of the "split chapter manga" are being released by a free web manga site that mostly use the web manga as ads for their tankobon. They are split this way (and more ecchi titles often have annoyingly overdone censorship) to drive Japanese fans to buy the Tankobon releases. It is an intentionally annoying business practice which I suspect Japanese fans find just as annoying but can't really justify complaining about do to being a free service.
