This manga is this popular only now after the anime. I took a quick glance at google trends for searches and they pretty much skyrocket after the anime ends. The reason for this is that Ufotable is an amazing studio, they make the source material seem better with their animation quality alone. Kimetsu no Yaiba is average at best as a story.

It's true that I don't need to express my opinion in public but damn if it isn't hilarious to see the fanboys have a meltdown when you insult their holy scripture.

I've read the manga from the point the anime ended, and yes, I still think it's a flavor of the month series that really doesn't have anything special in the story that warrants the popularity. I would wager that most of the people here defending this didn't even know about this series before the anime came out. I sure as hell didn't, and for good reason, it's dull, mediocre shounen.

@RangoBongo tbh? i just wrote that because i was pissed. and it's fine for them to express their shitty opinions, heck, even i have shitty opinions. but it's just the part where they keep slandering the people who think otherwise to their opinion. they could've just ended it with an agree to disagree and them not stopping in replying got me. i'm not saying kimetsu is the best manga or whatever, there's nothing perfect at all, and constructive criticisms are great. but do we need to have an argument get so big like this just because of a small disagreement..?

Ok I'm calling bs on an "aging drug". The anti-demonization (coined) drug makes at least a little sense (since it returns the cells back to the state they were in before they were attacked by the M-Virus not to mention Tamayo has been working on that for at LEAST a few decades), but how in the hell would Kocho alone develop an aging drug? That would mean she would have to learn cell division is responsible for aging, somehow figure out there's a limit to cell division in a given body, randomly assume Muzan's un-aging Demon body goes through the same process, develop an EXTREMELY potent super drug without hightech lab equipment BY HERSELF mind you, in the span of what? 3 months? Heck, even if she had 3 DECADES that would be a hell of a stretch. Now, I know this is Shounen so none of that REALLY matters, but that's a hell of a lot disbelief I need to suspend to get to the point of going along with THAT.

Tanjiro is way stronger than the pillars right now. Remember that the pillars were having a hard time even when all of them were fighting him. So that means each individual pillar was getting less attention than if he were alone facing aginst muzan. Therefore, tanjiro, who is getting muzan's full attention, is stronger than the pillars.
I don't really have a problem with the aging drug plot device. But its strange that all the pillars got done for so dispatched in such a short amount of time, especially when they were actually managing to hold back muzan. It feels forced, and done solely so that tanjiro can get center stage.

I really enjoyed binge reading this manga. The only thing I found slightly uncomfortable was the pacing, which was all over the place. I don't know how the manga industry works, or if the author was forced to end this in 200 chapters or this much pages. This is the kind of manga where you can take your time and flesh out all the characters. Then you don't need to rely on flashbacks (especially near death ones) so much in order to develop characters, and more characters can be fleshed out.
Also, I think the side kick characters should have gotten more glory.
