I fucked up and didn't change the font for the japanese in the tl notes but the japanese is 親愛なる隣人.
I would edit the chapter and fix it, but this is the one time I exported the file as just a png without saving a copy to work on later and I don't really wanna re-do the whole credits page just for that so my b.

I'm honestly really annoyed by mushroom girl fighting John and Engi at this point, she feels way more impenetrable than she has any right to be while the cast keeps arraying more forces and backup against her.

Yeah I agree about the fungus sisters. They are the type of villains too overpowered for mini-bosses and so arrogant and smug about that fact. Kinda like Kill la Kill's Harime Nui. The type of antagonists I dislike the most.
Luckily Isana saved this chapter. Since we've already had a headpat and a hug, I won't settle for anything less than a kiss in the finale.

It is a bit jarring how long they're lasting. Riko, particularly, feels like she's only being used as a way to keep Yumeji/Merry and John/Engi separated, with the upperhand constantly shifting between Riko and John/Engi.
I do appreciate that they are basically the penultimate bosses of the series I think, so it makes sense that they'd be tough to beat. My problem lies more in the constant shifting between "Riko is overwhelmingly powerful" and "Engi and John are cool as fuck", cause neither gets enough time to shine cause it lasts for so little. Like in this chapter, we see Engi decimate the Myconid Riko makes in a single hit, with Riko even saying she made it with the intention of it being sturdy, but then almost immediately after Engi gets to be cool, Riko smacks her and John's faces together and gets to look even stronger.
But I will say, as someone who isn't completely caught up to the raws, I'm pretty excited to see how Ushiki handles their defeats precisely because it's taking so long.

It's been 3 months and not a single person brought up the fact that the kanji in the tl notes wasn't displaying properly.
Guess no one really reads them anyway.

hi I'm here to say that the kanji in the TL notes was all squares and I figured it was because you forgot to change the font or something lol
