Unfortunately we all did, I actually thought that they were going to use the word "niggard" correctly, from https://www.dictionary.com/browse/niggard

noun- an excessively parsimonious, miserly, or stingy person.
adjective-niggardly; miserly; stingy.

Instead they used it as a racial slur. I'll admit I don't normally read this title and fell for the click bait, but when I saw it pop up with "What a niggard!" I was expecting something else.

Uh.... I need an explanation of why "nigger" was used here?? Just seeing that was shocking and came out of nowhere. Like, did the raws actually say that or did the translators decide to use that... either way, it's pretty offensive.

It's possible that whoever uploaded the chapters probably just copied it straight from the comic web app so the shoddy translation could be due to amateur translators on that thing. I've seen some pretty rough translations on those types of web comic apps...

@penguinslovesnow Based on google translator, niggard means stingy / ungenerous person (scrooge / pinchpenny). Just similar sounding as nigger? Or did they originally had nigger and fixed it?

That's why I said that the person who uploaded this most likely copied it straight from the web comic app. Most times, translations on those apps are really rough and in some cases have poor word choice and/or typos. I honestly have no idea what the original raw said but mostly likely it referred to the ML as a cheapskate. Overall, just really poor word choice of using "niggard" with the added bonus of a typo using "nigger" instead of "niggard" in the chapter itself.

i've checked another agg sites, which i'm p sure is a direct webcomics app translation one (cuz they have the webcomics logo in it) and even then they don't... use that word. or this translation. would post the link but it'll just gonna be remove so y'all can check it up yourself by looking up at google.

Yes, you are right about niggardly not being a racial slur but the original chapter had a typo and used "nigger" instead which surprised me. I don't think you guys meant to use it so we're good. Thanks for the update and stay safe. 😀

Just wanted to mention that chapter 3 was changed into chapter 4 so there's a gap. Could you fix that? Thank you in advance.
