It's not immunity. It's simply tolerance. You will still be affected, but with training, your body can flush the venom/poison out much faster than the average person or develop countermeasures for it. The more you take in something you can't tolerate, the more your body learns to deal with the intolerance. The only exceptions are allergies or substances that builds up inside your body instead of being flushed out, such as mercury.
You can even train your body to be 'immune' to snake venom, by giving yourself very small and gradual doses of the venom to teach your body to develop countermeasures (antivenom). However, these countermeasures are specific to certain kinds of poison or venom. So just because you're immune to solanine toxin, doesn't mean you're unaffected by hemlock. Most humans these days are immune to small doses to solanine, largely due to eating low-solanine potatoes, but in the far past, they were very careful with potatoes.
