No offense, but this translation is pretty bad. It's way too literal and the grammar is all over the place. It reads like MTL that was cleaned up.

Edit: Seems like you guys aren't native English speakers. I'd try and get someone fluent in English for QC

Hello: BasePlay here. I'm a Korean translator that's worked on over 5 series with Leviatan Scans and Edelgarde Scans. (Just my verification as a legitimate Korean Translator that's worked on series with some popular groups. Whether you still trust me is up to you.)

You've picked up a wonderful series that's extremely popular in South Korea- but had the misfortune of using a machine translation to ruin said series. You recently made an argument stating; "You can just say the translation is pretty bad or good if you KNOW Korean Language but If you don't know any of it..."

Very well. I'll say whether it's "pretty bad" or "good" as a KTL.

It's shit.

It's a clear and utter usage of Machine Translations in order to release against Death Toll Scans | Kraken Scans, who have both done an extremely fine job in their translations. But please, don't just take my word for it- allow me to address the latter half of your statement; "You don't have any reference to check and compare..."

Allow me to compile a list (mind you, this wasn't even an eighth of the way into the overall chapter) of all the mistranslations that are clear indicators of MTL.

Actual:
"같지만" in itself is "the same"
But in this context
it's "He might look like a retard"
Or "He may seem to be a retard"

Actual:
"I should HAVE watched more of his videos"
past tense
not "I should watch more of his videos"

Actual:
"The only video I SAW"
"Was 'How not to get hit in a painful way!'"
Or
"I didn't see any other video"
"Other than the 'How not to get hit in a painful way'!"

Actual:
"Now I don't have"
"Any other methods/techniques to use!"

Actual:
"So that's what a livestreaming feed is like"

Actual:
"Wow, this is the first time I've ever seen one"

Actual:
"It was an issue since the fight against Bbakgo was too short, but the issue this time is that it's far too long"

I couldn't be bothered to read any more of that due to the glaring issues- it was painfully obvious.

Well, we have a Korean Translator here, first let me thank you for your input and personally taking your precious time to correct what you think is a mistake on the translation of our translator. First of all, I would like to inform you that the original previous scanlation group (woopread) that 1st scanlated this gives us the authority to continue the series... thus if you have respect on that, you wouldn't scanlate this ( I think we both know what I am talking about here.) but clearly they don't have. Now, when we released our scans, Chapter 1, 2 and 3, Death Toll Scans | Kraken Scans hurriedly puts theirs (chapter 3) ... and so we both are scanlating the series now, lolololol... Anyway, we are not complaining about it, We are not against it either. They want to scanlate this series so let them no one owns it any way except the author and artist. We'll have to just scanlate it too and hopefully, we improve for the better. Thanks for your time and thanks for pointing out the mistake, Well just have to improve and probably get another KTL who can take this up to a notch. Ahh... another thing... The opinion of other people is not wrong, you just have to accept it for that is their opinion, Opinion is meant to be respected. And I guess we can talk like civilized people who don't express their feeling in a rude way... like, Shit Dog shit, Cow shit, Dung... while there we are still waiting for the other translation so the other team has plenty of time to adapt

@BasePlay Great examples. I haven't read too much MTL so I wasn't 100% sure so that's why I gave them the benefit of the doubt and suggested they get a better QC (Although IDK what QC really does). But now that I know they use MTL for sure, they should just drop it. Deathtoll is doing a much better job.

@Grail Bruh I'm a native english speaker. Just because I don't know Korean doesn't mean I don't understand english. Half the sentences make 0 sense in english, literally unreadable because you can't decipher the intent. Look you would have had a point if the sentences made sense in english. But the fact that someone who doesn't speak Korean is saying that the translation is bad, means the translation must be appalling . You want examples? Let me give you some examples:
(KEEP IN MIND this is with no knowledge of Korean so I don't even know if they are completely skewing the meaning. @BasePlay pointed out translation mistakes I never would have noticed because the meaning was lost in translation (EX: The past tense vs present tense) . This is only the shit I can see which indicates there is even more that I can't)

The first sentence it should be: "We are excited to bring this manwha to you!"

I know these aren't even translated, but with these sentence I can tell you aren't fluent in English.
"To 4.6k readers that you are taking time going in our site! So let's go!" - No one speaks like this. Did you mean: "Thank you to the 4.6k readers taking the time to visit our site. " ?

This is not how you would say it english. Par is not used like this colloquially. Imo it should be "Standing equal".

This is incorrect grammar: It should be "How the fuck is this guy doing it?"

I'm skipping over the next section because BasePlay covered it

This phrasing is very odd in english, it sounds like old english. Regardless, you can tell that its been typed by someone who isn't fluent.

Ok I thought I would be able to get through the whole chapter but the more and more I look, the more errors I see. While I don't 100% agree with BasePlay, since I have general opinion that people can improve, I do agree that you guys need someone who is more fluent in english to translate this. I also understand his anger especially since you are pushing people towards your PayPal. Can't imagine anyone who would donate. Then again "a fool and his money are soon parted".

Be open to criticism, it helps improve your work. Don't disregard it just because it makes you feel bad.

I disagreed with that and presented my case.
