Why is everyone arguing about how it's historically accurate so you shouldn't be uncomfortable? History is VERY uncomfortable and reading this as a modern day person I am very not comfortable

The age gap can be a bit much,as he is barely going through puberty and just a small innocent boy. Yet this sets us up for pretty great potential for growth in the main character. we have seen that they only think of him as a frail little boy, so if he grows into a well nice young man, wouldn't it make a great coming of age story? Also, the art style is simply beautiful.
Later we will see him challenge her father on the ground while he was horseback
. Young Karluk has the heart of a lion, and while she may have run her horse in this scene, he was equal to the task of 'capturing' his bride. (OK, she probably held back a bit for him)

In a later chapter, we will find him representing his clan before a Russian soldier in support of Mr. Smith, who had been jailed as a suspected spy. He wielded the influence of his family with calm and maturity.
