In this chapter, the idea may seem... "justifiable", but here is the thing... this "law" is still in "operation" even today.
And people go to lengths for that.
I have seen documentaries of children and teenagers who need to hide, because someone in the family killed or slighted someone else, and that family wants to kill them because they think that just the culprit's death is not enough.
During that time... maybe it worked because of the limitations of society, I can see that... but nowadays... most of the cases it is just angry people taking the "right" WAY overboard.
Sure, I have no doubt I am missing context in many cases... but when people want to kill a child because of the "sins of the father"... no, to me, there is no context to justify that.
