I just think he's horrifically bad choice to make shoujo love interest #9837438753498759348795834. There's nothing I can do to stop it, so i just snidely acknowledge it exists.

I try not to think too deep into it after that because the trope of "genocidal maniac love interest is totally not that bad despite still having done genocide" trope then starts to feel like a deep cultural/mental scar passed along the generations as a result of Japan taking comfort women.

At first I didn't really like how she gets al this cheat skills to get over some situation, now I think I'm tolerating it better and can see how this can become an interesting plot device to let her stand out.

For Korea.
There are a great deal of japanese stories (mostly isekai since it comes out easier there for some reason) where you can tell that the japanese writers and/or editors really don't understand that anything they did in WWII was bad too. Eg They really don't get slavery being bad most of the time, war crimes happen at the drop of a hat, and their general stances on rape/women.
