In manga it is very rare. Even rarer to have them commit past a few chapters. Girl Got Game is prolly one of the few ones that keeps its premise throughout its run, even after reveals. On certain sites, the tag used is female:crossderssing, which is misused so often in works before 2018 that it is meaningless since people tag it when it is just male crossdressers. While there is a name for male crossdressing as a genre, Otokonoko , there isn't one for "Pulling a Mulan" if you will. Tomboy as a tag is very unreliable, as 99% of them will not hide their feminine body at all besides maybe not wearing a skirt, the most common ones now are "former tomboys" as a stupid intro chapter to a manga about how a childhood friend the MC thought was a boy is now a sexy girl and acts super feminine.

Male Femininity in manga is oddly more acceptable than female characters with any masculine traits at all. Kawaii culture runs deep.
