The question of whether or not this manga is yuri has come up many times. There have been periods where it was tagged yuri on this site and then people would get frustrated because entire years would go by without anything romantic happening and the question of whether there would ever be anything other than subtext was a legitimate one.

My stance on it remains the same: people searching the girls love tag are looking for unambiguous romance. This does not qualify now and it may never qualify. It would be intensely aggravating to read something you think is a love story only for it to be slightly romantically coded friendship. Especially something with as many chapters as this has. This isn't the 90s or early 00s anymore. You don't have to go searching under couch cushions and reading tea leaves for gay subtext. There are just girls kissing all the time in manga now. So if something doesn't have explicate romance it shouldn't be labeled as girls love.
