First law of writing: don't give your character super-powers when you don't want him to use them.
If you're too unimaginative to understand the basic impact of your setting, maybe you're not fit for writing at all.

Then again, maybe the "multiply" part is a translation mistake. He hasn't demonstrated this power yet.

Kami could also means the following: hair(髪), paper(紙), god(神), and seasoning (加味)
depending on what kanji it uses.
