But why do you need pintures in a novel, weblike or not? All that matters is writing skills.
Im not sure what you mean tbh...

But, most novels, even paperback copies need at least a cover and back cover? Meanwhile, images and illustrations for webnovels and such originated from picture books and light novels.

These days, webnovel authors who are also artists (or a.i artists/art creators/currators) often will do art for their fans to enjoy. Sometimes putting them on for instance Patreon or such, and letting readers have them if they subscribe. Others give the access for free and simply create the art for fun and enjoyment.

But also, if you ever wanted to turn your novel into a web-comic, manga or anime, having images for references would be crucial. In addition, sometimes I create concept art first, and then write based off of what I see. Not scene by scene or such. But just major characters and locations. Knowing what they look like could generate cool brainstorming.

But more than anything, I just like creating images of places, things and people from my novels (or just in general) just for fun.

Theres a million and one reasons. I dont think 'need/needing anything' had anything to do with it...

I'd have understood if you simply have said that the pictures were for the sake of marketing, but putting the cart before the horse like that makes we want to stay away.

Then go ahead and stay away.

I really dont care...

Personally I think the reason you wasted my time with that was just to take a stupid stance on the issue because you hate A.I Art...and seemingly the people who make it. If your original post about burning images and also the creators on a pyre was any indication...

Honestly that just reminds me not to take any of your opinions seriously on this subject.
