I don't think it's a reference to anything specific, I just liked it. It reminds me of those overly emotional reaction cut-scenes(?) in anime, for an example: Naruto's sexy jutsu.

But in my opinion it's makes sense, if he somehow struggling, since it's not the same body, so you can't expect him pulling the same power when he's in another world.

Aren't these fights kind of meaningless? Even if Kazu wins and defeats an opponent, it doesn't lead to anything. The deity soul inside merely returns back to their own world. The human that was possessed turns into dust and is erased from history. The deity in their own world then sits around for a while, waiting for another "door" to open, to allow him or her to possess another human. So, the end result is random humans dying, including all the victims devoured, but the deities only lose a bit of time if defeated. Seeing how they are immortal, it's of no consequence.

For Kazu to make a difference, he needs to start capturing souls, assuming he can't simply annihilate them. Otherwise this war will never end. The variants will keep coming back time after time.

Even then, it's not that he's gotten weak...the enemies are stronger. Literal gods that MC said was already on par with Demon Lords(and that wasn't his full power) and they're only going to get stronger.

It's like any other demonic possession story in that regard. Even if they can't stop them permanently, they can keep them from killing more people by constantly sending them back. So, it's not meaningless. They're keeping them in check.

You're right, though that it's an endless war...unless he can destroy their souls or trap them.
