Thinking about this story again now, this guy is basically being emotionally stomped over and over because of these warring girls, including the catgirl herself. She seems to be protecting him out of yandere possessiveness rather than genuine concern. Dude quite literally cries himself to sleep yet she's just thinking about breeding.
