It's quite the sad that author put one chapter main story and two chapter IF story. Also, main chapter gets 8 pages average and IF gets 24 pages
Well, +18 story is kinda his main income, so I guess it's logical, that he prioritize abnormal version over normal.
Moreover, abnormal version is way easier to write and draw, 'cause you know... It's not precisely "peak" writing and he's using one panel for 3+ pages. We can clearly see how this series evolved over it's time from basically collection of one-shots, to fully pledged story with a decent and somehow funny plot - that's also making it that much harder to create.
Also, through the whole series, both versions switched multiple times in case of "leading the plot", as much as you can say that abnormal version has "a plot". What I mean by that, one time normal version is putting some characters in spotlight, after which they are main focus in abnormal version, and by then abnormal version dictates which characters will appear more in normal version, before plot there will conclude, and then the cycle repeats. Now we're in "abnormal version dictatorship", so judging by how hugging arc is kinda closed and that Sou's main guards were highlights of last few abnormal chapters, we can kinda expect to see them in near future in main story.
And last, but not least (probably most important), author is definitely in his "not-well" phase, both mentally and physically (although I don't need to tell you that, 'cause I know you're observing Kisa's twitter). But this time it's not taking 2-3 weeks, as it always did, instead it lasts 2-3 months and to be fair, I don't see any improvement in his state. If Xmas/New Year period won't somehow ignite something new in Kisa (you know, classic "new year. new me"), I'm kinda afraid he can temporarily abandon this series to make something new - and by temporarily, I mean for next year or so - because it's clear, that he's tired of creating. Which as a creator - it is devastating thing and you NEED TO find a way to ignite that "spark" again. And what's better solution than making new story? It's only speculation, but I can see that one coming in near future.
