Conceiving naturally in the real world is harder than artificial insemination too. You'll hear all kinds of stories of 30/40s couples going at it like crazy but nothing happening and then some 18yo doesn't pull out in time on a safe day and boom, preggers. Nature can be cruel.

This is all off the cuff, but I wouldn't be surprised if the lack of sexual activity in such a world does affect fertility. I'm sure there's science out there to prove me wrong/right, but I imagine that the ovulation cycle would slow down is there's less sexual stimulus (or expectation of stimulus).

Then again, porn still exists, so maybe that cancels it out lol.

You hate to see it happen. But I guess there's so many variables in pregnancy it's hard to tell.
There are indeed multiple points of failure in the process of impregnation; here are just a few that I can think of off the top of my head with my largely basic understanding of the subject.
  1. The sperm may be too weak to survive all the way to the ovum.
  2. The surviving sperm that does reach the ovum may be too weak to wear down the ovum's outer shell enough for one of them to successfully penetrate.
  3. The ovum itself may have an innate problem that prevents successful fertilization.
  4. Zygote/embryo implanation may fail outright; even IRL ~85% of successful conceptions fail at this stage, with two thirds of that being attributed to poor uterine receptivity and the rest due to problems with the zygote/embryo itself.
  5. Even after a successful implantation, miscarriage is still possible for all sorts of reasons, which obviously means a failed pregnancy.

The effectively constant stress caused by the emotional friction that pervades female-male interactions in this world undoubtably has a negative impact on fertility rates, as both male and female fertility is negatively affected by prolonged stress levels.

You shouldn't compare a girl with other girls during sex, you know?
Yeah ... no, when you're going after a guy knowing they're doing it with other girls, I don't think you have any place to criticize, girl.

30/40s couples
Well there's your answer. No, seriously.

"A woman in her early to mid-20s has a 25–30% chance of getting pregnant every month. Fertility generally starts to slowly decline when a woman is in her early 30s, and after the age of 35 the decline speeds up. By age 40, the chance of getting pregnant in any monthly cycle is around 5%."

It's in part due to eggs remaining (by 30 the 1-2 million eggs drop to 300,000-500,000, by 40, 25,000, and by 50, 1,000) and also egg quality.

She's not saying to not compare them, but not to compare them while having sex with them.

To me it feels more like her mother had a son after her. Causing her to be pushed aside, neglected and maybe even abused on the regular. Afraid that if she has a daughter (chance of 39/40!) her daughter would await the same faith.
Wow 39 out of 815915283247897734345611269596115894272000000000, that’s a really low chance.

Yeah, It's kinda creepy to say the quiet part out loud, but 15-18 is the ideal breeding age. a biological fact that aged horribly with modern society and how we view what an "adult" is. Especially for women; men ofc lose semen or worse, but generally they are shooting so much so often than the burden is more on the eggs.

But then again, we're here in an inverse world where 16yo men are governentally mandated to donate sperm every month and 16YO women can choose to impregnate themselves (and get incentives too. Especially if they can make a boy. Ofc I guess we can assume they can't control for sex like we can in relative recent times), so our own world logic and morals don't apply as much here.

It also doesn't help that men regenerate their entire sperm stock every 72 days, and are built to do so; sure, with age the quality and quantity decreases overall too, but it's a far cry different from the finite supply women have to deal with that is produced in batch form basically from day 1, by comparison.
