No, they called them Franks. A good chunk of the troops and leaders of the First Crusade were French, and this was back when the Frankish kingdoms were in the later stages of their transitions into France, Germany and the Low Countries. So Frank became a catch-all word in the Levant not just for the crusaders but for any western European among the locals the crusaders ruled over, Jews and Christians as well as Muslims.
