He is. It’s their party from the first chapter before they disbanded. Keele is the thief/archer guy and Elliot was the other frontline fighter with the sword and shield combo. It was mentioned that Kurune was the youngest at 22, while the other three were almost in their 30’s. They were probably together for quite a while. Long enough to forbid Kurune from cooking again lol

I havent read this for over a year... i dont even remember the premise despite having supposedly read from chapter 1.

He is a man who developed PTSD from eating a woman's food. That is the face of true horror just hearing Kurune entered the kitchen and was allowed to desecrate food again. A man so traumatized, it will haunt him Till his dying day

That was the kind of "cooking" one would perform on purpose to make sure nobody will ever again try to make them cook. Pretty cheap behavior in an adventurer party, where it should be one for all, all for one, and thus one person trying to be lazy and avoid the chores would ruin the atmosphere and sow discontent within the group. Although naturally such a person could willingly do some other chores instead more often, balancing the situation.

I often criticise mangaka for the tired, overused joke of trying to make cooking look like rocket science, but since it's a result of the Japanese situation of extremely cheap restaurants and food stalls being everywhere, plus decent bento being available for tolerable prices in grocery stores, it's partially understadable. Especially if you take into account the Japanese regularly pull off 12-15 hours workdays. If you work from the morning till the evening, you probably don't want to spend time cooking anymore but would rather hit a restaurant/stall that won't even set you back half an hour's wage, yet isn't pure garbage food à la WcDonald's.

Think this falls under the toxic cook trope rather then laziness. In fact many that are so cursed are eager to cook or have their food eaten. However it doesn't matter what she does, how simple the dish, or how the finished product looks, it will cause anything or anyone who consumes, or in some cases touches, it to fall ill. She falls under the Same character archetype as Shion from Slime Tensei, and Mio from Moon-led Journey.
