Two things: First it's nice to see the girls get some development, even if they'll probably be saved by Yoke at the last minute, they're standing their own ground against an OP mysterious enemy.
Second, I like the fact that Yoke is son of a presumably strong adventurer (Look at his gears and also I really doubt any average joe could possess a flying beast that makes snowstorm) because this will be a reasonable explanation on why Yoke is so skilled and his future potential, because we already know that he'll become the strongest Red Mage in the future.
