Ninjadork and Kaarme are on point.

It was refreshing to see the "impossible" solving of the quest achieved by Desir. I suppose he lied to his teammates to keep them focused. Desir's goals are refreshingly uncommon in Isekai. He doesn't desire to dominate--he wins definitively but closely--but to spur his talented friends to grow. They grow, but he still wins in the contests. This series is fun to read.

Well, it seems that Romantica would have won even without using magic. The two nobles were launched into their rush and couldn't stop themselves, and getting your eyes stabbed probably doesn't feel too good~
And damn, @chucke1992 your analogy is perfectly on point, made me laugh xD

Interesting. So he cleared the quest by Analyzing the tower, and thus get it to stop working (the new goal of the shadow world)? I suppose the panels that show us the tower's inner clockwork being zapped red is Desir analyzing the tower itself.

Does that means he already wins the moment he arrived at the tower? All the fighting between the parties, which culminates into fight between him and Adjest, is purely him trying to nurture her and give her a space for an accelerated growth; He can win anytime during the fight by shutting down the tower, but no, he needs his comrade to experience the entire combat and let them grow.
