I had that thought too, but it'd be weird imo.
WHY? Because Desir never even considered that possibility when he returned. It's also mentioned that Shadow Worlds have a certain 'feeling'. So I feel like he'd know.
I mean the Shadow Worlds also give off the world voice or whatever. Which we haven't seen. The thought did entertain me.
Unless the idea is supposed to be that he was affected by something and is a PART of the Shadow World. In which case the points above might not apply to Desir.

On a side note I've thought that the claim of areas being claimed by shadow worlds being unlivable is a lie. Desir asserted that but, I won't believe it until we see it.

now i can successfully never get caught up with this series thanks to tappytoon for not having official ch 93 available and dmcaying everyone that had any kind of resemblance of it.... fuck you tappytoon.... if ya really think the official way can beat the scans then at least put some effort on winning the long time readers by having up to date chapters... smh
