I can never understand the motivation of these so called "salvationistic" groups.
"We are killing millions so the world can be saved, people will forgive us if we explain our motives"
Just writing it is cringe.
"I am about to cut off your infected arm to save your life."
It's the same sentiment, but on a societal scale. Explaining motives is just the bedside manner.(like you have to be kinda cold to not explain yourself and just cut off the arm)
Now, obviously there is the elephant in the room, which is both the diagnosis, and the method of treatment. If the diagnosis is wrong, then the entire thing is terrible. And even if the diagnosis is in fact correct(arm is infected and a threat to the entire body), that doesn't mean the method of treatment is right or moral.(there could be a treatment that preserves life and the arm)
On a real note, real life criminals/frauds tend often tend to have a compulsion to monologue when the truth is fully exposed. Like I got a random youtube algorithm that told the story of how they caught a guy who nearly stole thousands of dollars by cheating the Pokémon speedrun community(setting fake world records). He denied it to the end, until it was irrefutable, then he went on a long monologue about why he did it and why it was a good thing.
It, like this and other monologues, was also cringe.
