Oh darn, this was one of my favorite series. I'll try and follow it on the scanlators site unless another group starts translating and uploading them here.

I don't always check the comments, but I feel kind of bad for not noticing the trolls here. I don't really agree with the guy calling them a majority though. There are over 40 thousand people following this series, the amount of them who comment aren't even a majority. But I can understand not wanting to put up with shit.

Also, man, things like this sometime made me wonder whether they'll allow some sort of "phantom" chapter here in mangadex.
Not an actual chapter, the actual content is just something like "this chapter is available in the group website".
The catch is that the chapter also show up in my follow list

I mean, I don't mind visiting the scanlator's site, but missing out on updates sucks and setting up notification for multiple small site double sucks.

@mage_goo yeah, I'd like it if the delayed chapters showed up on our followed list when the scanlation group uploads it. I want to be able to keep track of it all in one place, I use adblock anyway so I'm fine with visiting the group's sites too

@idle_af I think most readers just want to see the manga they follow be updated and are unaware of the politics behind the work.
to them, they are indeed retarded scanlaters, removing manga from a site that conveniently let them follow it on one page.
Expecting people to check a dozen different sites just for checking on updates is a pain in the ass.

I'm really glad mangadex added the 'mark as read' icon, allowing me to go to scanlator sites that have ridiculous delays, read ahead and mark them all as read on mangadex

@TetsuyaLP Oh, you're a scanlator, a group leader even. Just translate and edit the chapters and release and good luck releasing with better quality
Considering all your chapters use comic sans and are all hentai with no redrawing and just white over text. I'd find interesting the comments about it then.

Also talking about scanlation as someone who has done 8 chapters in his life vs someone who has done 600+ or in meraki's case 2-3k+ is very different since to release 60-180 chapters per month you require staff that are dedicated. If you're not aware, dedicated staff requires that has good quality and work ethic requires payment. Paying 8+ translators 5-15$ per chapter adds up.

Now let's do the math: if 8 translators translate 20 chapters per month, for 10 average USD per chapter that's: 8*20*10= 1600USD.

Can you take 1600USD out of your own pocket per month to pay translators alone? Without accounting the time the editors spend on said chapters and so on.

Not to mention you're talking shit about it but you try to take donations

It's easy to point out that groups make money, or that meraki for example made 1k+ on patreon, but have you ever tried to understand the costs of big quality/fast groups?

This is the third time this Manhwa got "Dropped" by scanlators, at least one of them was dropped because of legal issues. The rest are well... If you seen the comments you should know the issues...

Keep the drama in your own camps and stop fucking with the entertainment of the readers. This is how you lose supporters and stop being a group/company/whatever altogether, because there will be no one paying attention to you for you to continue doing work and putting in the time, effort, and money.

Also, all of this mess being public instantly loses all respect for anyone involved. It stops being internal drama when you air it out and just becomes a fucking embarrassment. None of you own anything. None of us do. Stop getting uppity.

We are all pirates. We are all illegally making gains, be it through consumption or 'donations'. We are all thieves. So don't start stabbing each other in the back or the whole shebang falls apart - and if that seems okay to anyone who reads this, you are a damned child.

Manga updates sucks balls it's not even worth going to. If you pull your stuff off pages like this I'm not going to ever see your website. I'm just going to see it on another website that doesn't ask permission. And that is reality, because I have no way to to know every TL group and their website out there.

Now if someone wants to make a manga update site like novel updates and link to your reader that is a different story, but at this point NO SUCH THING EXISTS.
