I wouldn't be so sure of this terminating because of getting axed. The pace has been really fast, after all, and the chapters extremely condensed. The characters aren't being developed that much, either. The very beginning was actually somewhat normal, by showing the woman at work, but I feel like it was supposed to be the first scene of a series of scenes underlining she's stressed at work, but those other scenes never appeared. In this chapter 2 she's already freely chatting with the delinquent, as if they were old acquaintances. If the pace is that fast and delivery so superficial from the beginning, then the end will come soon even without an axe swinging.
