I’ve always wondered that too. If it’s so looked down upon, why are high school girls in Japan seemingly used in every faucet of their media as sex icons?

I think it's a matter of Japan fetishizing youth, just like in the west, except much more. It's crazy how many mangas I've read that make 24 yo sound like the cut and dry end of youth and after that "It's too late!" to get married, children or pretty much anything

Liking this manga so far, but I know I'll like it a little less when it inevitably becomes a romance. I'm not the biggest fan of age gaps- especially involving highschoolers and adults. I could see this not being creepy though. Age gaps can work, but it all hinges on how naturally the two people fall in love. Sometimes people really just fall in love with someone older.

Right now, I'm enjoying the vibe despite the elephant in the room, and I hope it stays that way.
