If you ask me, it's kind of creepy how the swim club president asked a new (potential) member immediately if she's in a relationship already. It would have made sense later, assuming they had interacted more, but why right off the bat? It's their first meeting and it's official club business, to boot. It makes one suspect he's not too serious about swimming but is rather a nanpa master on his free time.
