Watching anime means you support slavery and the suicide of workers, like that in A-1 Studio a decade ago.

Unless they improve their sweatshop factory, I abstain like in Nike.

@bigtiddyoneesan @sterven

this guy has not seen Boruto Vol 11 in Animated manners.
why would I watch something I'm not interested in? it doesn't matter how good the anime adaptation is for some titles(boruto is crap btw) if the story is crap to begin with and it doesn't change the fact that majority of anime adaptations are garbage in 2024 having one example of 1 volume doesn't make this any less true

Imagine talking shit about Boruto. I cant even begin to imagine. tbh you are the garbage one just like queen bee and their half asses animation on hentai full of moving ppt and taking the majority good hentai just to make it look like an ass with contrast colouring. That's the definition of trash adaptation, see the difference. Doesnt matter you said? I bet youve never seen recent adaptation such as frierreb? I dont know, Kimetsu no Yaiba? I dont know, maybe just maybe you havent seen garbage anime such as Bleach and probably never seen the adaptation of Fan Letter One Piece. And hey, I think you should watch garbage adaptation like Look Back, I dont know I heard the author got an adaptation for their Chainsaw Man manga. Like, do you realize those anime are garbage adaptation? you little twat, you dont even deserve fucking Doraemon, you dont even fucking deserve Pokemon, you dont even deserve to have a childhood anime.

Oh, yeah, say that Akebi Sailor Uniform adaptation lookin garbage. Also, hey, a lot are coming. lots of garbage adaptation. Its all part of commercial for the mangoes and the novel anyway. Somehow the adaptation is garbage, amrite.

forget to add /s because you seems cant see that im being sarcastic inb4 zoomer.

Oh, you’ve got to be kidding me. Someone’s out here trashing Akebi’s Sailor Uniform? How in the world do you look at that masterpiece of an anime and come out with anything but awe? What, did your brain take a smoke break while it was on? Are your standards so low that unless something is exploding every five seconds, you just can’t handle it? Sit down. We’re about to set some things straight.

First of all, let’s talk about the animation. Do you even understand how much effort went into making this show look this good? This isn’t your run-of-the-mill seasonal fluff with mediocre CGI and a couple of sparkly sakura petals slapped on to distract you. No. Every. Single. Frame. Of this anime is a work of art. The way light bounces off her uniform? The subtle movements of hair in the breeze? The hyper-realistic textures of the world Akebi inhabits? It's like the animators poured their souls into every detail. You dare to call it “garbage”? Garbage my ass—you just don’t get it.

“Oh, but nothing happens!” Are you kidding me? Are you actually kidding me? Not every anime needs to be an overblown action spectacle or some melodramatic soap opera. This show is about life. It’s about savoring the little moments—the excitement of wearing a sailor uniform, making friends, and experiencing the world with fresh eyes. If you don’t see the beauty in that, that’s on you, not the show. Just admit you don’t have the attention span for subtlety and move on. No need to embarrass yourself by pretending it’s the anime’s fault.

Let’s not even get started on the music. Oh wait, we’re absolutely getting started. Kana Utatane’s soundtrack is magical. It’s not just background music—it’s a full-on emotional experience that elevates every single scene. The gentle piano, the sweeping strings, the way it perfectly complements the visuals? It’s a sonic masterpiece. And what do you call it? “Forgettable”? I bet you’ve been listening to the same top-40 anime openings for years and wouldn’t recognize good music if it slapped you in the face.

And don’t you dare come for the story. Akebi’s pure, genuine excitement for life is everything we need in this bleak, cynical world. Watching her navigate friendships and find joy in the everyday is heartwarming in a way that most shows wish they could achieve. If you think it’s “boring,” maybe try stepping outside and touching grass. Not every anime has to cater to your edgy, plot-twist-obsessed sensibilities. Akebi’s Sailor Uniform is about soul. And clearly, you’re missing yours.

you would have an easier time getting a girlfriend than looking for a good anime adaptation these days
Yeaa talk a lot until you learn how much time and sweat some people sacrifices for just rendering a 5 minutes long video with a lot of revision here and there. Appreciate every works, please?

Firstly, how did i miss that this thread exists??

Secondly, I prefer reading manga more than the anime.

Main reasons:
  • the joy of reading: I can pause my reading anywhere, read 2 or 3 at the same time, no sound, no motion blur that shutter my eyes, the grayscale style too has its charm.
  • Accessible: Site like mangadex exist allows me to read the scanlated version of the last trending anime and plus if there is no chapter on mangadex, just google the series title "+raw" and I can read the raw.
  • It's cheap: It's just images, just a bunch of jpg and png files so easy to store.
  • Geographical reason: Madagascar is a poor country, where even having a 1 Go of mobile is still a luxury for most of people. So I prefer downloading a zip of 2 ~ 10 Mo per manga chapter instead of downloading a 400 Mo for an 720p episode of the last trending anime. Also since reading manga is really really niche here, nobody cares about me reading manga/hentai. Some people might but not everyone
  • Spoiling my anime fanatics friend.
Speaking of those "anime streaming services" (more like "anime stealing services" 🥁 🤡),
Those "services" just steals your money like every month just to allows you to watch the same slop every season,
where in manga, you can buy the physical/digital volume and read it anywhere without internet connection and without worrying about those subscription bills and plus you "own" it.
Physical anime media are completely 404 in the west, where still popular in the Japan.
and thanks God that physical manga cult still exist.
Hope, it will never die.
But subscriptions services for magazines also exists, you know?
Yeah but it is always better to have a physical/digital volume that I can read anywhere.

Still, Manga has still its caveats like any other media...
It's just that manga is well suited for me,
and I don't think I will gonna get away from it soon.

majority of anime adaptations of mangas in 2024 are garbage
I would say some of them...
Most of them are impressive...
It is just that you watching them on the wrong "angle".

I'm an artist myself, I know exactly what people have to go through to produce 1 piece of short animation but that doesn't mean I have to appreciate all of it and say its the best thing ever or anything like that. I'm allowed to not like something just as people are allowed to not like something I make

At the end of the day personal enjoyment from what you watch is all that matters. Which is primarily why I stick to manga
I pay to enjoy the anime I keep in my library.
And yes compared to other anime adaptations before the ones now are pretty underwhelming, you get a few great ones here and there but that's about it.
No one can convince me for one that Blue lock season 2 has "great animation"
