Cute ninetales.

I'm also guessing her inmorality was due to the price she had to pay, but if that's the case, i don't understand why, perhaps she was turned inmortal to serve the entity?

was her inmortality the price she had to pay? like: ''Now that you know the truth u shall walk among those that hate u for all eternity'' or some bullshit

WAIT A DAMN MINUTE... i think i just connected the dots ( ꒪Д꒪)ノ
in the last chapter when her teacher was reading her that book about summoning, she said something about offering 666 and then it cut off so i'm guessing the price she had to pay was 666 lives or something like that and so the village was burned down by that devil so in exchange for the truth, she had to give 666 lives °Д°
if i'm completely wrong then......pretend you never saw this🤡

but like... immortality wouldn't make sense ?? how is that the price she has to pay?
ANYWAYS this was a rollercoaster i'm hoping we get a little more explanation

I think her wish was the inadvertant "I don't want to die." That's where the immortality came from, but the thing she summoned took the villagers' lives in exchange.

imagine if ellen wasn't even immortal and she just made that assumption lmaoo
but like for real, the fire burning down the village was definitely the price she had to pay. which ?? you can't blame her for? she had to save herself and also, those villagers were trash and that thing she summoned was just doing god's work😤

Well... if that desparate summoning to save her life is what led to all those villagers' deaths then it was quite a self-fulfilling prophesy.

The village deserved to get burned down. No sympathy. But now I wonder what price she had to pay. Was it really the inability to die? Or something else? She did say she has no feelings unless she relives the feelings of those who have died by her doing.

Ok, so if the price she had to pay was the lives of those in the village... idk I think that's kind of stupid. For people who aren't empathetic or who would want a wish granted for evil, that would be such a non-issue. Shouldn't the penalty for great magic be afflicted directly on oneself?

It's like; imagine some dictator wanted that power, then they were told the penalty would be some village dying off. I'd figure they wouldn't care so much, and then every warlord anywhere would possess that power. (Not to mention the people who died in this case were actually her enemies, mostly. Many less kind people would see that as a benefit rather than a penalty. Well, same with immortality.)

@greyvenn that's actually make senses, in my country black magic needs sacrifices as in human soul to get the djinn to do what we wished for, it's a scary contract if one fails to give sacrifice they demand, the summoner might have misfortune befall on them.
That's what used to happen when a dictator want an everlasting huge building they'd kill and bury the worker on the foundation.

Immortality can be a curse also.
Always outliving everyone you know and always see them die and you can never pass on.
Thqt can take a big mental toll.

@flirts yeah that makes a lot of sense actually😳 i didn’t even pay attention to the ‘offer 666’ part last chapter so yeah the price she had to pay was probably the lives of the villagers. the immortality is still a bit confusing though

Sorry but I don’t feel any ounce of sympathy for the village at all. They bullied, ostracized, and tried to murder her just because she was different to them. If the devilish thing hadn’t done it, I would’ve feed their souls to it myself.
