Not even that. He literally just stayed out of the fight entirely, and banged an elf while he was at it.

That aside, my running theory that Abandoned is just a literal Hell continues to gather evidence. The dwarves were "cast into Abandoned" by humans and now we see that they were just executed.

both could be true though, many dwarves were executed and one holdout was banished instead, perhaps they were strong and the humans didnt want the losses, perhaps there were multiple groups hunting dwarves, perhaps the same person who threw FMC in there also "saved" a few dwarves from the humans

I think the dwarves being hung are the ones that were deemed guilty of aiding the demon king enough to get executed. The rest of the population was exiled to Abandoned.

In the case of Germany it doesn't help that- to my limited nonprofessional knowledge of global history- Germany was fucked over largely as a scapegoat when the actual instigators and/or those much more directly involved got off relatively lightly.

Honestly, I still can't pity the Dwarves that sided with the Demons this much yet.

Our MC's father is literally a dwarf. He run away from his allegiance to the Demon and he sure look just fine.

You choose to side with the Demon instead of running away or change side, and you're blaming your enemy for treating your like an enemy? Do you never heard what we call the consequences of your action?

Maybe in the future, we will actually got more perspective to the war, but as it is present right now, with all flashback that we will see, I can't pity the leader of this dwarves. If he only plan to escape instead of just starting another war, I can atleast give a little bit of support to their idea.

I don't feel sorry for them, they picked a side and they lost. What did they think would happen? So far we have no context proves they were forced. Hell, that flashback of them being hung is manipulative. Not once had this guy shown any remorse for the legions of weapons they gleefully forged to slaughter humans. Or any remorse for siding with the demon king.
