Thanks for the chapter :D
Such a shame that Maroma could not enjoy that cool helmet. We better see Shion in that helmet in a future chapter, or I'm rioting.
Goodness, I love this manga so much. Its clearly well-thought-out worldbuilding, goofy sense of humor, and unique characters keep me enthralled, not to mention how it has that indescribable quality that defines outstanding series in copious amounts.
I hope we see more of Felicia. She is one dependable maid: imagine dedicating yourself to tending to your employer's brainspace. Shion being her favorite child is hilarious too; I wonder how much of that comes from her relationship with Himawari.
Compared to the ruler of demons in Chapter 0, the Himawari Astalais we see in this chapter is a much more interesting figure. She loves her children unconditionally, and sacrificed a life of great power and influence to save Shion. There is a reason why all her daughters revere her rules and wishes. Yet, if the Theater is Himawari's will, so too is the metaphorical "broken stage" that the Astalais sisters dance on from Chapter 1; this entire power struggle is a "stage prepared for children," her children. Moreover, Himawari's death still needs to be questioned, since her death was "gruesome;" her missing limbs are gone, for instance. A heart transplant to was definitely not all that happened; Shion omitted part of the truth for some reason.
Needless to say, this chapter also characterized Shion. She is emotionally strong enough to move past the past, or perhaps she is just acting tough to live up to her mother. Probably both. She is still just a child on the inside though: watching her be ecstatic at Maroma overtaking Dahlia this chapter brought a great smile to my face... I get why Felicia loves her so much. Hopefully Maroma's presence will let Shion express more of that childlike wonder. This story is a bunch of immature vampire sisters fighting each other due to mommy issues, which is quite tragic if you think about it.
This chapter confirmed that the eldest daughter is the crowned person playing demonic chess with the DC announcer in Chapter 1 – we saw a tiny version of her when Dahlia's Formula was explained. She seems to be setting something up. We also saw how the Vicellous Religious Sect operates in Ruscilester: they are doing a demonic summoning ritual in that one panel on page 27, and, uhh, there is a pope who just decides to fire lasers, apparently???
Lastly, poor Ramen Man: Blackest Ramen was destroyed. Hopefully he bounces back from this loss.
