The knife she had when she turned herself in didn't have the mark so it's clearly part of a bigger plan. I dunno what the purpose behind stabbing the body was if she was gonna use a different knife and the original was already covered in blood. It makes sense she cut up and disposed of the body otherwise it would clearly be suicide, they've been able to tell since the 1800s if stab wounds were inflicted post mortem. Maybe it was so she'd have bloody clothes?

I think the idea is that she's going to dismember her to cover up the suicide and make it look like a murder to frame it on the dude...?
Okay that makes sense, thank you for explaining it to me. It's just that this manga pace went downhill out of nowhere so that's what confused me as if the story isn't already dark enough

I get it. Mizuki once had the dream to become a mystery writer and she's into horror and thrillers. She knows Yuuki is well-connected and has contacts in the police and Yakuza so the best way she can do it is indirectly, bringing in her mom's kitchen knife and confessing to her friend's (or low-key Yuri crush) murder and trusting that the probono defense would suspect her cover story and want to investigate. The story has a lot of holes, and the exposition narrated by Mako, who's supposed to be dead could have been handled differently but I love the art so I'm still locked in
