This chapter is an excellent illustration of Adachi as a character IMO. She's so ill equipped for dealing with any sort of human contact situation and she gets incredibly stressed out about it, yet she keeps pushing forward, somehow. That girl is so darn strong .

Don't worry it's a slown burn so we're getting there, if you wanna know more then we're currently at the end of volume 7 what we have left is adachi and shimamura's date and then shimamura's dream which goes even deeper into her character arc (which so many people ignore and just decide to call her a sociopath even though she clearly isn't one 🙄🙄), then we have volume 8 which is the school trip arc, in this one they start to talk more about how they're feeling and then volume 9 adashima's second christmas together where they have a heart to heart conversation where shimamura tells adachi more about how she truly feels, it's a very beautiful scene. I really hope that moke won't stop after volume 8 and and decides to adapt the rest of the volumes too. Sorry I kinda got carried away and started babbling lmao.

Not really. Adachi is Adachi, so her "drama" isn't really always drama, if you know what I mean.

Without spoiling too much of the later LN stuff, she does get better at handling her emotions as she gets older. She's still Adachi, but her natural anxiety levels aren't at a minimum of 9 out of 10 at all times anymore

• if you're talking about her overthinking, anxiety and possesiveness then yes she gets a little better with time
• if you're asking about her obssesion with shimamura as a whole, "shimamura is life, all i care about is shimamura, i don't need anybody else, my life resolves around shimamura" then no, she loves shimamura in above "normal" way and that's just the way she is
