Nagafuji is definitely in the wrong Manga, her first instincts after thinking her friends are fighting (they're smooching) is to make them do SPORTS! So they can work through their feelings through COMPETITION and SPORTS.
She absolutely belongs in a sports manga or some such, or she eventually finds an Antipodean girlfriend who can indulge her twin loves of SPORTS and boomerangs.

I'm going to assume the boomerang is a metaphor for how all of Adachi's anxiety-fueled plans will come back to smack her in the face

Adachi was serving face the whole chapter then Shimamura showed up and she turned into the biggest loser on this planet once again

I haven’t read the light novel of this story but I feel the mangaka has done a pretty good job adapting the characters into the manga cause I knew exactly what Shimamura would say the moment she met up with Adachi. It seems I’ve come to know both of these characters well enough at this point.
