she might be ace or demi (likely, even), but, really, the thing that's going on here isn't a lack of sexual attraction but a difficulty with identifying her own emotions. when she feels things, they clearly come out muted somewhere inside her and it's hard for her to identify them directly.

FWIW and without spoiling too much, it's very much implied in the later novels that their relationship involves regular physical intimacy. Which doesn't mean that Shimamura wouldn't still identify as aro or ace, obviously. The author is the only one who would really know ultimately.

Guys, I don't think Shimamura and Adachi are homosexual. Adachi is, for sure, Shimamura-sexual and Shimamura might be Adachi-sexual. We need more conclusive evidence for that, though.
