Kodomo refers to manga for young children. It is distinct from shounen/shoujo/josei/seinen, and there are several kodomo magazines, e.g. Corocoro Comic. I propose that it be added a possible demographic option.
It would be nice to add so that parents, for example, can limit their search to children-friendly manga without having to worry about violence or other inappropriate content. Even the small amount of violence present in most shounen manga would not be appropriate for young children, so I do not believe excluding gore/sexual violence/ecchi/smut tags in the search are sufficient.
Or vice versa, so people can filter their results by not seeing manga that they might consider too childish.
If adding it as a demographic is not possible, would it be possible to add it as a tag instead?
Currently on this site, most kodomo manga are misclassified as shounen.
Some examples of kodomo manga:
Doraemon - no demographic currently listed
Yokai Watch and its sequels - listed as shounen
most of the Pokemon titles - listed as shounen
Shugo Chara - listed as shoujo
