Today, I stumbled on this page:
"Too many hits detected from [IPv6 goes here] (601). Please try again next week. If you are not a bot, contact staff to get unbanned."
Well, since there was absolutely no way to find staff contact details (since 100% of the website is replaced by this message) and even archives and webcaches redirect on mangadex main website (JS-side?) witch only shows the message, i had no other way than renewing my IPv6 to get back...

SO, please add means to contact staff in ban message.

There are no plans at this time to implement this suggestion. If you wish to avoid this in the future, consider joining our discord and idling there.

We feel that this will discourage the use of bots, scripts, and scrapers from using up the precious bandwidth that we reserve for readers.

... I keep reading the response, but I still fail to see how it makes sense.

So on the block page, you tell people to contact staff if they are not a bot. But then you refuse to give them an opportunity to contact staff. Those two are mutually exclusive, pick one option.

And how does idling in discord help with not getting banned when mass-requesting stuff? Either you have a limit that says "anyone above X amount of requests in Y amount of time gets tempbanned" or you don't. What difference does having an afk account in discord make in that equation, and why?

Do not get me wrong, I am against bots and scraper programs. I just think that you can't tell people to contact staff and then forbid them from doing so. And I fail to see what idling on discord should have to do with any of this.

Fair point. When I have the opportunity, I'll address this with staff. I can't promise this will change but I'll try to let you know how that discussion goes.

Staff discussed the issue and unfortunately, the IP banned message will stay as is for the foreseeable future. I would suggest reaching out to @ixlone if you'd like further clarification.
