well, at least there's a cool jacket here.
i put the leather jacket to backpack.
a match box. i think it's dry enough to work.
this should work when it's getting dark.

i took a peek through nearest window, hopefully i can determine time through sunlight.

you can see the sun is still rising to noon
though the idea comes to you that the curtains on this window have a metal pole holding them up and the strings allowing them to be pulled back could be ripped out
there is a hardware store behind this house and you know if you go past it there is a grocery store but weather these stores are still stocked is questionable

i instinctively closed the curtain, never once i like outing under daylight.
and what am i thinking. i were outside being chased by some hound-thing not a while ago!
but then going outside at night might be even worse. i should finish everything before dusk.

i look closer at the curtain. this will make a good gauze.
and the pole might be useful for poking things. still need to get it sharpen, though.
i do have a pocket knife with me, but i don't think tying it to a pole is a good idea.
i put down the curtains and stuffed them in the backpack.
i took the metal pole with me.

i need to bar the window now, let's disassemble the dresser for it.

you come to the realization you neither have the tools or skills to take it apart with out them
your only choice would be to see if you could set the mattress against the window or smash apart the dresser and hope whats left will be enough to board the window

what did i do when i ran out of boards the last time i bar my house?
...i did nothing, because i got a lot of unused boards laying around.
that said, there's no boards laying around here.
eh, the mattress will do.
i set the mattress against the window.
then i move to the living room

you had just kept the curtains closed and stayed as silent as the cataclysm happened and hoped nothing would go into your house as that happened.

the living room has the couch a bookcase with some books that you could take a look at and the tv and table. nearly all of this could be taken apart for parts and scrap with proper tools. or just smashed and hoping you can use whats left

"fancy living room, isn't it" i thought to myself.

i push the bookcase to block the dining room, then block the main door with the table and couch.
i also examine the books while i'm at it.

Seems who ever lived here wasn’t exactly the most well read person as it’s all magazines there are a couple of children’s books near the bottom enough to start a small fire or be used as scrap paper. There’s also a bunch of random decorations that neither look good or could even be remotely useful

as i tidy the backpack, i came to realize a few thing.

firstly, if i don't get any more drink i'll die. the boozes from last night's despair banquet didn't help. my last bottle this morning only douse me that much.
secondly, i might die this time if i get chased by those thing again. i have neither the skill to kill those monsters nor outrun them. even if i did outrun them, i might be dead from exhaustion.
and lastly, darn i'm pretty strong. i'm pretty sure this books and magazines weight some kilogrammes in total. its surprising i still can stand up with this weights on my back. i guess this is what they call adrenaline rush or something.

i took one weird looking decoration from the bookcase. i carefully jumped through the window and sneakily walk to the other house.

Not sure about the books, but I'd say the duck is carrying around 13 kilo of paper on its back.

@hazzack as you walk over to this house you notice everything door, window and opening
to get in, has been boarded and reinforced heavily there’s just solid wood every where your not sure how to get in with out making too much noise. And also you don’t really have anything to pry out or smash the planks properly with out shredding your hands
