Well yes it is intact to expect for the part where it's cut off at eh edge of the room

yeah, they're loaded in a deck of cards and it's like a block of plastic hard but not unbendable

No, as they use fundamentally different processes to generate power. Converting an S.U.P.E.R.P.A.C.M.A.N to a P.A.C.M.A.N is impossible,

such devices were used in singularity engines as the singularities emit large amounts of radiation

it's still relatively intact and its easily cleaned and reattached to the salvage drone

It's like trying to watch an ant colony work. Not very helpful but interesting,

giver or take most of the drones can continue for a year with what's left of their fuel

problem is you don't know the location of maulkuth's core so the cryopods don't really help to determine how dispersed the ship is

You do pick up a strong radioactive signal between your core and the cryopods. It's orbiting close to the inner circle of the debris field you are in the middle it's about 9800 miles away from both your location and the cryopods.

I monitor the radiation signal to determine whether it being manipulated by a intelligent entity.
I check my data banks to compare it's signature to that of known engines, fuel materials, and generators.
I consult the data banks for information on the resistance levels of the drones to radiation induced damage.

Maukuth's core cabin position wasn't well known even before the ship broke up?šŸ˜•

It’s simply a constant radioactive signal

It does not match up with any known engines fuels or generators

Solar shielding For ships is still considered a expensive and hard to apply on most ships your drones stand no chance against any concentrated energy.

You really didn’t know her location as you didn’t really interact act with her much before the disaster although you know gerbura was close with her.

I scan the inner perimeter of the debris field's margin to determine whether the radiation's source is the star we are currently orbiting.
Measures the radiation levels, to determine how much danger it would pose to a drone on a fly by.
Considers the fact the distance from myself and to The RCD group as the crow flys is 3000miles, but it's only 196miles if we cut across by the orbit's inner margin. The XDCD drone made a similar distance trip from it's original position in practically no time at all
If physical shielding of the ship's hull was nonexistent even from the ship's date of birth, how did it function longer then a year with out falling apart, or ending up a abandoned radioactive wreck? Was it protected by energy shields during it's functional lifespan?
Unless you meant shielding drones to make them resistant to radiation was not practical, but the ship was hardened against cosmic radiation.

Wait I forgot 2 zeros

No the source can’t be the sun judging from the readings

It would only allow for a drone to be there for roughly 10 minutes

I meant the radiation shielding to allow ships to enter coronas and neutron star beams. Which is possible it’s just very expensive.

Were there nuclear munitions on board the ship?

Checks the ship's schematics to find out whether there were multiple subsections of the ship equipped and laid out in the same manner as the engineering / mining section that I assumed Maukuth's cabin was attached to.
( I would think a AI with her skills would be more closely tied to the Research and Development, Mad scientist, and Fringe Engineering groups then the regular engineering division. Perhaps that division had it's own subsection within the ship that was a bit more isolated from the influence of a meddling Central Core AI who might disapprove of their 'less then logical' Quackpot projects!)

I ask Gerbura if she knows for sure Maulkuth was in the general engineering section, and I suggest some unorthodox techniques to use in her attempts to search her out on the other side of the star.

Nuclear arms have been Rendered useless now a days and aren’t even viable. Nor would they even be kept aboard a colonization vessel

There really isn’t aside from a empty core room in athe rnd department which was meant to be filled in by a new ai

ā€œMaulkuth rotated between the rnd and engineering department so I really have no idea where she could even beā€

Checks the ship's diagrams to see where R&D was located in retrospect to my own and the the official engineering dept's location.

Checks the networking system's logs for any indications of preparation for a spare core facility being brought online before the disaster.
(Perhaps they attempted to move her when me, and Gerbura went down and the customary location was too close to the conflict areas?)

Checks the historical records for information on enemy factions that used nuclear armaments, or any groups within this star system that may have dumped their enriched nuclear waste into space.

compared to the command the rnd department was located directly underneath you and behind the engineering department

those logs are sadly gone along with the network of minor data banks around the ship

your currently at the edge of explored space no major factions are within at least 20 light years here

Starts sweeping the area below the area my cabin was originally drifting to attempt pick up signals from the core support infrastructure components in RND. Scans the area for any large ship pieces nearby my current position.

Check my records to find out whether there were any survey probes operating with my ship before the breakup. Checks for access codes, and communication protocols needed to connect to them.

Checks for any naturally occurring phenomena that emits radiation like the readings I picked up earlier.

How much time has passed since the salvage op started.

On a hunch I ask Gerbura if she ran enough tactical drills with our binary labgeek associate for her to recognize, and become fluent in 'advanced tactical closed loop encrypto-jabber' or is it just noise she's likely to be spooked by as she attempts to dig deeper into her foxhole.

Scanners will be done by the end of the day.

Survey drones and ships were deployed ahead of time. And all the data they gathered was held with in data banks spread around the ship.

Currently known unnatural radiation emitting phenomena

Checks for more info on Hive Hearts. (Zerg? Were they the bugs that attacked the ship?)

I tell Gerbura while encrypted tactical communications may be second nature to us, Maukuth may not be able to get through the encryption firewalls without a cipher key. If she's further out the I can transmit and receive, she may be closer to Gerbura, but she might be getting blocked by the encryption cipher protocols Gerbura set to block eavesdropping, and bad signals.

hive hearts are the main structures which allow star swarm to construct their ships.

"You've been doing it so long you don't even realize it Tacky! We aren't using standard communications. We've been using tactical encrypted (encoded) communication protocols to prevent hostile outsiders from intercepting and listening in on strategic communications." I respond in shock. "Does Quack even know Tacky babble?"

Assuming I'm not the only one using tactical encryption, and she been using standard communication.šŸ˜•

ā€œWeren’t you supposed to give Maulkuth a copy of our ceipher?ā€

Also I really don’t care if your a trump supporter I’ll only ever acknowledge that in politics thread. It has no impact on what we do here.

"I sent her a listing of the ciphers we agreed on, but I can't say for certain she copied them to a data log she can access now. Actually I don't recall her ever using or drilling with encrypted ciphers before the attack. Can you?"
"Also do you recall any intelligence reports about a hive, or swarm in this area?"

Checks data for more info about 'Swarms' in this reality.

Asks the drones for a report of their progress.

Thanks, That's good to hear. šŸ™‚

ā€œThey weren’t kidding when they said she was like a teen and I ended up attached to her too. And I do believe this system was clear of any star swarm.ā€

Starswarms are massive ship sized organisms which live and bread in space.

Drones say they will have a report by the end of the day

Remember you need to manually pass the day
