Well, it's a thing now I guess. And boy does it look trippy as hell

What're your thoughts?

Like most people, I'm simultaneously impressed by how far this technology has gotten, and fearful of how far it has left to go. This looks how Will Smith eating spaghetti looked in 2023, and now in 2024 those videos, while still super obvious, are crisp and have some understanding of physics. I wonder if this concept will evolve as rapidly...

tbh AI itself isn't really the problem here, what I fear is that we may have to deal with yet another shovelware games because some people just do not give a fuck about anything, especially in the current state of game industry.

Not gonna lie, I personally don't give a fuck about those AI generated games.

Still impressive in a technical way, but
It's just pointless in a practical sense.

Why do I need to play Minecraft in a more energy consuming way where I can play it in a potato PC, with free mods and shaders enabled and with resonable frames on top of that?

But with this being a thing now, i also expect a future where no one will gives a fuck on playing new video games that is made by big companies and just downloading the gameplay footage of it on YouTube and playing it in AI mode with extra "features" on top. Can we consider that as piracy? Well, only time can tell.

eh, ai slop will always be slop and people will stop caring about it as soon as it loses its janky/fever dream charm, imo rn the only reason as to why people talk about the minecraft one is because the gape itself is very reminiscent of LSD dream simulator.
plus the problem woth ai technologies is how much it gets censored as it's developed, which again, makes it lose alot of its charm. I'd say ai generated games don't have much of a market apart from ai bros and people who's mental faculties are comparable to that of a toddler.

now as for the use of ai assets for stuff like voice-lines and concept art, that's a different situation and I got my own opinion on it.

the problem is not in the AI, but in the people itself.

AI is used in many things since long ago. such as automaton programs, engineering, etc.

the current problem is how it being exploited in wrong way.

take an example for works. instead being used to help people in things that hard to do by humans, they used it to replace human resources in something simple and trivial. reducing the job instead of increasing it.
then there in entertainment, the so called "AI art" is the one most problematic in being misused. it should help people to improve and make the work in making art easier, not to simply generating images by stealing patches and formulas from other products without permission or proper credits. it was the part where the credit of the source and reference being used to be properly tracked isn't available is what make people think this is an easy way to make something while disregarding the source materials. had it being limited to only allowed to feed AI using own products or, required to get permission and proper credit on people who they used to feed their machine, it should lower the rate of problems.

the other one is using AI in entertainment industry to replace people. i think it becomes huge deal when a company decides to feed Actors, actresses, and VAs either their appearance to their voices to use it without in their products, song, movies without needed to pay or credit the person in question is, bizarre in many level.
yes it make it easier to make something in case the person cant make it or already deceased. but to use it merely to reduce cost and without crediting them is the same as stealing copyright from someone.
if that what people want to normalize, what make we different than Edison to Nicolas Tesla then?
