Since his initial departure in chapter 2, not really iirc. I imagine nothing outright bad will happen to him (at least for a while), though his absence is somewhat of a plot device to allow for MC and Saki to get closer together.

I do wonder how he will feel about seeing the two of them be closer together, if he reacts at all.

She doesn't really "want" it. She is doing it already. Very subtly so a 14 yo can not really comprehend it. Entire chapter just gave me the chills. She has some serious fucked up shit going on in that head.

True, it's very very intentional and it's being made clearer than ever in this chapter.

I never really stopped to appreciate it, but Jaga's sense for creating beatdrops and drawing expressions in moments of tension just fit this writing so well. What a great authorial match. The editor got this pair right.

He was tired not being seen as a man, he pushed her down and almost kissed her, and she still brushed him off. All that did was confirm for him that she only sees him as a child. Also, to him, all that redirecting to the girl his age was just another way of signaling that she’s not interested.

Clearly she is playing a dangerous game if she actually wants to maintain boundaries… without a PoV chapter it’s hard to understand what she really wants (assuming she even knows). I hope she figures it out soon because I don’t think she understands how much her games just hurt that kid. He has a lot of issues and she just made it worse.

I‘d expect to see him start avoiding her after getting overtly toyed with and shut down like that.

I wholly disagree with the idea that she sees him as a child. I think everything was masterfully crafted for plausible deniability. The phone pinging and her drawing more attention than she needed to does detract from my stance, however maybe she thought the moment was over and didn't want to force it. Had the phone not pinged, she likely would have gone through with it.
