Honestly, this is kind of a unique situation - one could easily interpret what she was doing this chapter as either her trying to flirt with him OR (and this is the unique view) since he is her first guy friend, she still has a terrible sense of space and is behaving in front of him more like she would any other girlfriend of hers.

Of course the later is exactly what the author pointed out themselves, but usually this is just a dumb excuse for the real goal of flirting, but in this situation it's so much easier to actually buy that argument since it got set up properly - it was literally the premise established at the very start of this manga that she didn't know how to deal with people. Her doing this 'due to having badly aligned boundaries' is much more in-character than her trying to flirt.

Not to say she is still not flirting. There are women who have no sense of personal space like this while harboring no romantic feelings and are the absolute worst abomination to any man, since they send extremely false signals and make them think they're developing a romantic relationship when they really aren't (not in her mind). I wouldn't say that this manga is going for that at all, but it's funny to consider.

Initially I didn't get why he was rejecting her advances (him being all flustered and all).

But now I see that she was getting way too touchy and that can get plain uncomfortable if you are just starting to know someone, so I'm glad he spoke up.

I liked how this went down between them, It was a good way of representing healthy communication without a weird drama element to it. He established a healthy distance between the two by saying she was making him uneasy, and she opened up about her inexperience with guy friends and not being sure what was appropriate. I wish more authors did that; no idea how it'll go in later chapters but that was good.

All this, plus he's devoted himself so completely to his career aspirations that he's as totally inexperienced with girls (other than as his taste testers) as she is with guys and it's overwhelming him.

I like how this holds true but she is also attracted to him as more than just a friend. Not that she's aware of it but the feeling is still there.

Im not sure how the author managed to do it but her clueless naive self makes those cliche getting too close without being flirty interactions believable while simultaneously having those flirty moments. Her fascination with seeing his reactions is done in a way thats clearly more than platonic, but then we get her being really pure and platonic this chapter with the snacks and massage.

The author is getting the cake and eating it too! Pun intended.

Gives the characters a nice depth and chemistry you don't often see. Specially for a romcom manga, the fmc having more complex reasons to like the mc is rare. Then we get the mc just communicating properly for once, having a personality and not being a pathetic passover; it's practically a miracle!

Considering her apache attack helicopter parent and friends I'm not surprised she doesn't know how to interact with boy's or knowing the boundaries of their relationship

In her mind it's just "I have to be as accommodating as I can that way we'll be able to get closer as friend"

It felt like the author was trying to say something when he was scared to enter the house alone with her, and talking about her close contact making him uneasy, but then just gave up near the end and went with "Naive Airhead Heroine" can do no wrong.

thanks for the chapter, but.... you really need your TS/proofreader to step up their game.
i've seen chicka instead of chika twice and the hyphenation is absolutely atrocious and makes it really unenjoyable to read.

these are just a few of numerous cases of terribly butchered words - it's very easy to check how many syllables a word has, just use https://syllablecounter.net/ for it.

if your TS is not very good at english grammar, make sure the PR checks it again after TS but before release.

Thank you for the new chapter!
The novel has now also been completely translated with 3 volumes. Here you can find the audiobooks I made for it:
According to the author, they will not write any more volumes for this series, but they did release several short stories on twitter. I'll try to have them translated and share them.

I think the fact that she is so sheltered and her parents are so overprotective also help this argument a lot, since she doesn't deal with many people, let alone any other guys

I only speak for myself, but there's plenty of shit I'd put in an abomination list above women touching me without romantic feelings. Like a hatchet to the dick. Or being sent to jail, a guy'll get touched there far too much. With no romantic feelings.
