I loved it for the very necessary character development of Yukiya working through all the things that are holding him back from confessing to Miku. I kinda even wanted him to lose and still confess.

Why does that NEVER happen in manga?
It would be an original (original just because no one does it) character defining trait: I don't care if I lost, I like you and that's more important

I'm reading a manga that has what is probably the most infuriating variant of this - guy loses, decides that means he has no shot, instead hooks up w/ girl he just met 🤦‍♀️, doesn't clue in his original crush about any of this - but I'm struggling to think of any where the character loses and still confesses.

Such a convoluted way of stretching the story, ugh
I'm not a hotshot at drawing, nor do I consider my writing any good, but sometimes I feel like "being the change I want to see in the world" and pick up the drawing tablet once again XD
